This was one of our first projects that we did last semester. We were to create a 7.5" x 9" magazine ad (no bleed) for Apple, Nike, or McDonald's. I'd recently purchased one of the new iPod Nanos, so I thought it'd be convenient to do an Apple ad for the Nano. Our goal was to create the ad using photomanipulation techniques, so I had a difficult time coming up with a concept at first. I finally settled on a food-like theme. I was considering showing the iPod with a bite taken out of it, but that proved to be a little difficult. So, I got to looking at it closely and realized it was roughly the same height as a candy bar so I headed in that direction. The ad is basically showing off new colors (or flavors) that you can choose from, so I incorporated imagery that relates to the color of each iPod. The images within the screen are all stock images. The iPod and candy bar wrapper were taken by myself. The candy bar's wrapper is actually household aluminum foil wrapped around a chocolate bar, and the paper is plain white printer paper. I believe this was a crunch bar, so the original wrapper wasn't suitable for any manipulation whatsoever.
